Veiled chameleons appear brightly colored when viewed up close

Identification:
This brightly colored chameleon can grow up to 0.6 m (2 ft) long. Distinctive SHARKFIN-LIKE SHEILD on the back of the head distinguishes this lizard. All have a fleshy fringe from underneath the nose down the middle line of its belly to the base of its tail. Legs are long and pencil thin. Large adults have VERTICAL STRIPES. The veiled chameleon is found in only a few places on Maui (see Maui map.)

Jackson's Chameleon (Chamaeleo jacksonii):
Jackson chameleon's grow up to 10 in (25 cm) in length. Adult male has THREE HORNS on the top of their head. Juveniles and females often have blotchy coloration.
