PBIN & Community-based Resource Management
PBIN provides technical support for community-based resource management programs that strive to improve local ecological conditions through grassroots networking and student involvement.

Nualolo Kai Archaeological Resource Management Project
The Na Pali Coast Ohana is dedicated to the preservation of the natural and cultural resources of the Na Pali Coast State Park, Kauai, Hawaii. The Nualolo Kai project has been the main focus of the Ohana's efforts for the past several years. In cooperation with the State Parks Archaeology Program, the group has assisted with clearing of vegetation, removal of invasive species, and archaeological research in this small but spectacular area of the coast.

PBIN staff have trained Ohana members in the use of GPS in the field, given an introductory GIS presentation and led a field exercise to geo-reference current species observation and monitoring activities.
